Ami Bhansali is the specialty branding trailblazer and visionary behind Chai Diaries Premium Teas. She is a progressive entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in creating and marketing specialty lifestyle brands. She moved from India to the USA in 2013 and created Chai Diaries. She is leading all aspects of strategic planning, operations, product conception and development, and branding. An avid world traveler, lifelong seeker and vegetarian, Ami was inspired to create Chai Diaries following one of her first “awakenings” in India. She spent several years traveling within the country and was determined to create a sustainable business that upheld and demonstrated the values of “self-realization through daily activities”, a concept that fosters individual consciousness and profitable capitalism. Ami currently can be found between India and America, tending tea in her family’s tea estates, practicing yoga on the beach or packing for her next adventure.
Before starting her entrepreneurial ventures, Ami worked in public relations and managed accounts for major brands such as Bvlgari India, Moet Hennessy India, Hugo Boss India at some of India’s top public relations’ agencies, and earlier in her career she was responsible for managing the image and media relations for India’s movie industry (Bollywoods’) top celebrities drawing endorsements of over millions of dollars. Ami hails from India and earned a degree in advertising.
