Favorite herbal tea

March 31, 2018

This is a tea to delight all the senses. I'm a fussy tea drinker, and, although I usually prefer a black tea, I like to have something herbal in the cupboard for evening consumption. I've looked around quite a bit and Chai Diaries' Blood Orange tea is one of my favorites...possibly my very favorite. Upon opening the tin, the immediate impression of the tea comes with a scent that reminds me of the creamsicle ice cream bars I used to eat when I was a kid. The first couple of times I encountered this tea, the scent, while pleasant, made me a little nervous that it would brew up to be cloyingly sweet and artificial. Not to worry, though. The end product is lovely. The color is a rich red, and the natural orange flavor from the brewed orange peel takes center stage. It's a very nice tea, and something quite different than other herbal teas I've tried.
